The Spin Cafe is not a Cafe – in the most traditional sense of the word Cafe. I didn’t even see coffee on the menu – however, if their guide to name their establishment a Cafe based on the traditional service – for the most part I would agree.

The co-owner (we later found out) greeted us and sat us at our table. We were promptly met, we ordered – Cindy Ordered the Ms Piggy and I ordered the Spin Burger. Now, on the menu it states that it takes 10 full minutes to make these burgers as they were 1/2 pound (before cooking) and took a while to cook. I was fully prepared to wait. I didn’t think we were going to have to wait the 20 minutes that we did.

Our waiter promptly served what we could tell were regulars. We were assuming this as he approach them and said, “Will you be eating the xxxx Salad Today?” and the prompt “yes” – we could only assume this was a regular joint. And assuming from the City of Heber – it’s a small bedroom community for people who either work in Provo, Park City and Salt Lake. So, as we later found out – this place has struggled through the recent economy – however, like any good business they are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

As you might notice – we were waiting, and waiting – diners served by the female waitress were receiving their food promptly. There were nice Cuban sandwiches being served, Salmon dishes – they all looked lovely – I was getting hungry. Then the bus-girl noticed that “bring me my food look, because I am freaking starving” look – and she brought out or dishes.

  • Cindy’s Ms. Piggy
  • My Spin Burger

Both were excellent – however, I did prefer the Mustard Slaw that was on the Ms. Piggy and thought it would make an excellent option to add to the Spin Burger. It had a mustard/vinegar bite to it, that cut through the BBQ sauce on her adapted looking grilled cheese.

The food was worth the wait time – and overall the service was good – not fantastic that. However, after talking with the co-owner – they are very focused on the experience and are striving to improve.

We then ordered their Gelato. We ordered the two flavors of Creme Brulee and Chocolate Banana Creme Pie – oh, this was fantastic. This is a must hit when you are in Heber City. Please let them know that you found this review on MarinateMeBaby.com
