Wingers has been in the Northwest culture for quite some time. The Old’ Winger’s Sauce and wings, while still good – there are other wing joints creeping up in the area – as wings are not just an exclusive to a few joints now a-days. I had noticed that Winger’s had been re-vamping their diner style locations – and I wanted to see if their new brand/shell franchise had followed suit and offered more than just the same old wings and tired menu.
On this day, we tried their wings with their Sweet Teriyaki sauce.
The wings have the same familiar coating on them in regards to the batter. The wings are dusted/battered in a season coating – this yields upon frying a very crispy and satisfying wing. I admit there is a tendency in Teriyaki sauces to do a little too much Sherry. I was quite pleased with the mix on Wingers as it wast out of balance.
There are those places out there that use a smaller wing – I for the most part love the meatier wings, as they tend to fill me up better – and if your going to get that dirty with your hands, don’t you want to have a reward at the end?
Do you have a favorite place where you get wings and would like the Marinate Me Baby staff try? We would love to hear from you. Join the discussion below by leaving a comment/post!
