I went here as a part of a group from work while working in Murray. Vic from work was picking up the tab – and we were darn grateful. Thanks Vic!
It was a Sunday that we were going to Rodizio – I had heard a lot of great things about this place from co-workers and family alike – forever. This is self titled ‘The Brazilian Steakhouse’. I was told that there were waiters dressed up in traditional garb and they came around to your table and sliced meat onto your plate and you ate this way.
When we got there at the time we had agreed to show up – there was a power outage at the Trolley Square plaza. Most of the businesses had signs up stating that due to the power they were closed ALL DAY. Rodizio had their metal gate down and it appeared to be the same for them. HOWEVER, someone showed – gave us the 1 hour time line to opening when the power had returned.
So we went out side and in a trolley car there was a bar running. Since most of our parties were out of town visitors – the beer started to flow. Joris and I had sprite. Surprising enough these were ice cold and did not disappoint.
We were eventually back in and were seated and started with the salad bar. Now you could make a meal out of the salad bar alone… great food and WOW excellent black beans. The salad bar had cheeses, salads and a whole litany of other items that were excellent. And then, the food started to come.
These waiters were dressed in what I can explain were Paine Stewart type golf clothes but Brazilianized. They came around with sausage, pork, chicken and steak (the best by the way) and sliced sections off on individual plates. What was an unexpected surprise were the pineapple and the Brazilian lemonade.
The pineapple was grilled on the same fire as the meat. Now, if you have never had grilled pineapple you are missing out on one of the truest delicacies on the place of the planet. It was cool how they came with this every so often – I was later told that by them doing this your body did better with the digestion of the food. If it’s true – the concept worked as it was excellent.
The last was the Brazilian lemonade – Which in most senses of the word was not a traditional tang that I hate in lemonade. HOWEVER, this was tropical and sweet and had just a small tang as a background flavor. Pretty good stuff…
Excellent dinner and excellent company…. Thanks Vic…

Decent but expensive, the best part of going to this place for us were the Grilled or Fried Bananas that they brought as their version of the chips and salsa or bread that some places offer. I have been to other Brazilian Steak house establishments and this one was no better, but not any worse than I had come to expect. I enjoyed the small portions of each type of meat that was offered but, for me, it got old asking them to slice off more than a paper thin piece each time (maybe I had inexperienced gauchos???) I don’t plan on going back unless someone else is paying and insists that THIS is the place they just have to go, not because they did anything wrong, or that the food was bad, its just not worth what they ask you to fork over after you lifted your fork far too often to your mouth!!
OH but the pineapple is wonderful for sure! I think by the end of the night I had put down an entire Pineapple by my not so little lonesome!!
been many times great food ,fun place to take a date also……..
This is one of my most favorite places to eat! We took our kids over spring break and they love it! It was exotic animal month and they tried wild boar and rattle snake sausage. It was a fun family experience.
